Concept of the series “Jad & Joury”
The organization presents gender learning content in the form of different stories. The stories will be narrated by two different characters representing the group of 4–18-year-old males and females. Although the series’ direct target group is from 4 to 15 years old, we assume that “JAD” as a role model might impact the older age group. Therefore, the organization selected a 7-year-old girl to raise topics, ask questions and seek answers in a humorous and intelligent way. Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy will discuss the raised topic in a simplified manner. This is to correct gender misconceptions and highlight useful information that helps correct those concepts.

Mom is the lead

Women’s political participation is essential for achieving gender equality and building a more just and peaceful world. It enables women to engage directly in public decision-making and ensures better accountability to women. Achieving equal representation of women in elected institutions is crucial to establishing the credibility and legitimacy of parliaments, national assemblies, and local governments.

Gender roles, which are societal expectations for behavior and attitudes based on an individual’s gender, can have significant impacts on individuals and societies. These roles can limit opportunities for individuals, particularly for women and girls, and perpetuate inequality.

Early Marriage

Early marriage, also known as child marriage, is a harmful practice that has devastating consequences for a girl’s life. Child marriage effectively ends a girl’s childhood and forces her into adulthood before she is physically and mentally ready. Child brides are more likely to experience domestic violence, have worse economic and health outcomes, and are less likely to remain in school.

Social Privileges

Gender-based inequality affects access to opportunities and resources at all levels. This inequality poses barriers for women and girls, people with disabilities, and others to access health information and critical services, including restrictions on mobility, lack of decision-making autonomy, limited access to finances, lower literacy rates, and political participation.

Moodiness

Gender-typed stereotypes are preconceived, usually generalized to reinforce gender norms, typically in a binary way (masculine vs. feminine). Gender-typed stereotypes can be used by societies to justify discrimination against individuals who do not conform to the gender roles. They can limit opportunities for individuals, and perpetuate inequality.
